Amy Beskow

 

Amy earned a bachelors degree in vocal performance from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2006 and went on to pursue her masters degree at Southern Methodist University from 2007-2008. She has studied and worked with some of Texas’ most prestigious and sought-after teachers and performers and has sung opera in Germany, Italy and all throughout the state of Texas. She currently serves as the soprano section leader of the Fort Worth Opera chorus and just recently celebrated her 5th season with them.  Although opera is her greatest love, she is also passionate about musical theatre and choral singing.

Before coming to Coppell High School in 2008, she taught in Dallas at several junior high schools in the Lake Highlands area.

 

 

 

 

Rachel English

 

Rachel received her Bachelor of Music with emphasis in Vocal Performance from Baylor University in 2009.  She has studied voice under Dr. Jerry Gordon, Dr. Michael Johnson, Dr. Andrew Hudson and Holly Boyle.

 

Rachel has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious choral conductors and choral composers including; Simon Carrington, Anton Armstrong, Donald Bailey, Robert Young, and Z. Randall Stroope. She has also sung in venues across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

 

Rachel will begin her third year teaching at Coppell High School.

 

 

Michael Gasparro

Michael graduated Cum Laude in May of 2009 with Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from the Baylor University School of Music.  He has since been making a living as a Musician and Actor in the Dallas area. Michael is currently the Music Minister for the SMU Catholic Student Center and a voice instructor/music director for Coppell High School, Texas Creative Arts Academy, and the Dallas Summer Musical Academy of Performing Arts.  As a professional performer, Michael was most recently seen on stage in Theatre Three's summer 2011 production of Pippin in the role of Lewis and prior to that as Danny in PFAMily's Art's production of Baby. In addition to his work as a performer, Michael is a classically trained pianist and has extensive training in teaching all ages and styles of voice. As a voice instructor Michael fuses his love for a wide realm of musical genres with strong vocal techniques to help his students learn the skills necessary to perform many different styles of singing.  Carol Mulvey

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Texas School of Music, Carol sang with the internationally acclaimed A Cappella Choir under the direction of Frank McKinley.  She was the Middle School/Upper School Choir Director at Greenhill School for 25 years.  During the early part of her career, she spent two summer seasons performing with the Dallas Summer Musicals in My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, and touring with Donald O’Connor and Eve Arden in Little Me.  Carol was a soloist with the Dallas Civic Chorus under the direction of Dr. Lloyd Pfautsch.  She has also sung as a soloist with the Irving Chorale having toured England, Scotland, Wales, Austria, and Italy.  She served for 22 years as the choir director at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Irving, and is currently the choir director at Church of the Holy Communion, Dallas.  Carol has served as president of The Irving Chorale and Choral Chair of Texas Private School Music Educators Association.  Her professional affiliations have included TMEA, TCDA, TPSMEA, and NATS.

In her spare time she enjoys playing with her precious granddaughters and spending weekends with her husband on their ranch in Bonham, Texas.

 

Janna Bauskar - Accompanist

Janna Bauskar is the accompanist for CHS choirs.  Additionally, she teaches piano, accompanies singers at Texas Creative Arts Academy, and tutors students in writing and grammar.   She has Master’s degrees in Music and English Literature from The University of Alabama.  This is her fifth year at CHS, and she thinks it will be the best year yet.
